Position Summary:
Clean, decontaminate and maintain all carpeted and hard surfaces within BioFire facilities in order to ensure a serviceable and positive working environment; performs preventative maintenance on specialized floor care equipment.

Responsibilities:
  1. Perform all assigned floor care functions based on departmental standards, company policy and within the guidelines of BFDX’s Quality System
  2. Perform all assigned tasks in a professional manner in order to reflect the highest level of service and competence within the Custodial Department
  3. Complete work assignments in a timely manner
  4. Safely operate and provide preventative maintenance for floor care machinerysuch as: buffers; burnishes; auto-scrubbers; polishers; vacuums, etc.
  5. Utilize the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to applicable policies and procedures
  6. Perform other cleaning activities and environmental service dutiesas directed by supervisor
  7. Must be able to perform duties wearing a Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR)

Studies and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Operation and maintenance of mechanized and non-mechanized floor care equipment
  • Use of cleaning chemicals and supplies
  • Antiseptic cleaning in a hospital or laboratory preferred but not necessary


Skills and Qualifications:
  • Ability to complete work assignments to standard and in a timely manner
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to work independently, be attentive to detail, and maintain a positive attitude


Physical Requirements:
  • Pushing and pulling heavy objects; must be able to lift 60lbs
  • Position requires repetitive motions, reaching, bending, stooping, and handling objects with hands and/or fingers, talking and/or hearing, and seeing
  • Must be able to perform duties wearing a Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR)
