Marketing Manager

Primary Purpose and Overall Objective of the Job:

This is a product management role with primary responsibility for developing and executing marketing objectives, strategies, and tactics.


Main Accountabilities:

Executes under appropriate supervision:

  • Marketing tactics and programs
  • Sales and Marketing training
  • Tradeshows and promotional events



  • Market/Stakeholder-related objectives, strategies, and tactics
  • Messaging strategy
  • Market insights
  • Market research
  • Sales tools
  • Sales Programs
  • Product collateral
  • Sales forecast
  • Support for RFP process


Provides assessment and recommendations to Management on:

  • Competition
  • Market trends
  • Customer behaviors, beliefs, and attitudes
  • Market opportunities
  • Effectiveness of marketing strategies and tactics
  • Market research and business intelligence needs


Interfaces works closely with and/or Manages:

  • Customers
  • Sales force & field employees
  • Internal R&D, Manufacturing, Legal, Quality, Customer Services, Compliance personnel
  • Global Marketing
  • KOLs
  • Marketing Communications Team
  • Advertising agency
  • Reimbursement/Market access team
  • Commercial product managers


Studies and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in biological sciences or business-related field; MBA preferred
  • 0-4 years (Associate Market Manager), 4-7 years (Market Manager), 6+ (Senior Market Manager)  experience in market management, product management, market research, or clinical sales (preferably with diagnostic or medical products, or other relevant experience)


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Introductory knowledge of marketing regulated clinical diagnostics in the field of infectious disease.
  • Knowledge of molecular biology, microbiology, immunology, or virology clinical laboratory techniques is highly desired, but not a requirement.
  • Performs work under direct supervision
  • Handles basic issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
  • Interacts and presents technical information to audience with various levels of scientific experience.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office; PowerPoint, Word and Excel, and contact management databases.
  • Some lab experience is not required but a plus.
  • Fluent in English.
